Here on DasMotoClub I plan to post a few things that might not be specific to our group and/or our planned trip but what I feel you guys might be interested in seeing and reading about. This post is that exact case.
A couple of weeks ago I camped out at Lake Livingston State Park and as I walked around the campgrounds looking for prime camp sites for future reference I stumbled across this little gem. I stopped in and talked to the owner of this awesome piece of work which I was told was classified by internet standards as an Adventure Trailer. I had never seen one before much less knew what they would be called had I in fact did see one.
The owner mentioned that he looked all over the internet searching for “Adventure Trailers” and pretty much took all of the best features that he liked from custom and prebuilt trailers and sketched this design up himself. He contracted a fab shop to build it for him and once that was complete he began to outfit with all of the goodies. Man! I was impressed with the amount of detail and obvious thought that had been put into this project. It was top notch from front to back.
As a Westfalia owner the first thing I noticed when walking up to it was the large light rack reaching up into the air coupled with a solar panel to provide the power. This trailer had its own self sustaining solar powered 12volt electrical system so there was plenty of power for those rural off the grid camping trips.
It was complete with anything and everything you could want/need when you want to go out and have an adventure and/or try to escape the forthcoming zombie apocalypse. Jerry can fuel and water storage, honda generator, hi-lift jack, axe, shovel, sledge hammer, spare tire, climbing rope, chuck boxes to store all of your cooking utensils, propane and a drop ramp for a ATV or a ton of camping gear. Just hook it up and go!
I was thoroughly impressed with this trailer and the owner said that this was in fact the first trip he’s ever taken it on. He said he just finished it and this was its maiden voyage. I am sure he’ll get a ton of compliments from fellow gear junkies like myself each and every time he takes it out as this is a great piece of work. Hats off to you sir… Job well done.
